Ethnos Dominionism

News release: “The New York Times will no longer be publishing political cartoons following the uproar surrounding an anti-Semitic depiction of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a political cartoonist whose work was featured in the paper.”[2]

As this section of the article was being written, numerous news stories were pouring forth, relevant to the subject of the drastic increase in anti-Semitism rhetoric. Publication was delayed while we added in these new examples throughout this article.

Basileia vs. Basileia 
Taking a step back and looking at the larger picture introduced in Part 2, ethnos against ethnos (“nation” against “nation”) is an us versus them concept. It pits sect against sect, party against party, race against race, and group against group. (See Part 2.) In ethnos vs. ethnos one group seeks to attain dominance over another in a battle for power. In this prophecy about the last days delivered by Jesus Christ, likewise each “kingdom” (Gk. basileia, βασιλεία) wages war against other kingdoms. Basileia vs. basileia. In other words, each ethnos and each basileia seek to attain their own dominion.

Looking over the expanse of history religions have always battled other religions, countries have overthrown other countries, and kings have conquered vast expanses. In man’s quest for power over other men, people are exterminated, lands are destroyed, cultures are subsumed, and histories are revised and rewritten. The graphic exhibits in this post illustrate how when one ethnos seizes dominance over another ethnos it often destroys not only its people, but obliterates its arts, religion and history.[3] This has been called “cultural genocide”:[4]

…the eradication and destruction of cultural artifacts, such as books, artworks, and structures, and the suppression of cultural activities that do not conform to the destroyer’s notion of what is appropriate. Motives may include religious ones…, as part of a campaign of ethnic cleansing in order to remove the evidence of a people from a specific locale or history… in which the past and its associated culture is deleted and history is “reset”, the suppression of an indigenous culture by invaders and colonisers, along with many other potential reasons.[5]

An article about the destruction of cultural heritage sites, explains this in terms of dominance over an ethnos:

Societies have long sought to protect and preserve their cultural heritage, for reasons ranging from education to historical research to the desire to reinforce a sense of identity. In times of war and conflict, cultural identity and cultural heritage become all the more important. Buildings, monuments and symbols of culture that speak of shared roots acquire an increased significance. Accordingly, they can become targets of violent and oppressive action that seeks to destroy the symbols valued by enemies or the iconography associated with alternative faiths and traditions.[6]

Dominionism can be found wherever a religious and/or philosophical system seeks to impose its values and enforce its will upon a populace, especially to the point of changing government. It often has to do with conquering land, but it also seizes sovereignty over people. It is revealed in a group’s intention to, one way or another, build their “kingdom on earth.” This can even include an atheist regime enforcing a totalitarian godless system. Dominionism is a system of repression where other competing systems of belief and thought must be vanquished. Ethnos vs. ethnos Dominionism is malevolent, even violent and destructive. This dominance can even quite literally go so far as to disfigure people:

Anti-Semitic Dominionism
Anti-Semitism is often expressed by ethnos groups that are seeking dominion over Jewish people for one reason or another. Jews and the country of Israel are irrationally blamed for things and are treated badly.[8] The Jewish people are a race and an ethnicity. They are also a religion. And Israel is a country on a specific piece of hotly contested land in disputes that go back for decades and centuries, even millennia. All this creates a perfect stew for ethnos vs. ethnos conflicts.

Current cultural and political divides are also exacerbating anti-Semitism. A Congresswoman created huge waves recently when she aggressively launched a blatant revisionist history concerning the Holocaust.[9] Other “experts” were hauled forth to issue statements, some of which lacked scholarly accuracy, common sense and rationality. Meanwhile a prominent opinionated newscaster spouted off analogies to Hitler.[10] Both of these incidents had the cumulative effect of callously minimizing the absolute horrors of the real Holocaust.[11] Both were coming from the political Left and were being used as a bludgeon to score points against the political Right.[12] This is all dismissive of factual history, which makes it a perfect example of how cultural dominance begins with one ethnos exercising dominion over another.

But all this is also anti-Semitic on its face. This is a rapidly growing trend that seems to have no brakes. It is, to be blunt, abusive and bullying behavior. It is therefore quite scary.

Religious Dominionism & Ethnos 
Dominionism is rooted in us vs. them, ethnos vs. ethnos, basileia vs. basileia. Christians who are Dominionists hold this worldview. They believe that by their own efforts they are “building the kingdom of God on earth.” They seek to impose their beliefs upon others, by coercion, manipulation, even resorting to force.[14] This is a heresy and its many variations have wreaked much violence against other ethnos groups over many centuries. In fact, whenever there was an “established” church ethnos, persecution of different ethnos believers often occurred. This included persecution of the Jewish people.

Previously this blog has extensively published articles detailing Christian Dominionism.[15] See especially our foundational articles published elsewhere: “What Is Dominionism?”[16] and “Dominionism and the Rise of Christian Imperialism.”[17] One current leader of Christian Dominionism, referred to as “the U.S. national apostle,” has even gone so far as to call for a “civil war” in America.[18] Much more will be written about Christian Dominionists and anti-Semitism in Part 4 of this series.

Dominionists look upon people who hold other points of view as “the enemy,” especially when it comes to politics. It is important to establish that religious Dominionism lurks not just on the political Right,[19] but also manifests on the political Left. Marianne Williamson, a candidate running for president, has now qualified to be in the first Democratic Party debate.[20] We have repeatedly warned about the flagrantly anti-Semitic tenets promulgated by her close political associate Neale Donald Walsch, and their other New Ager leader friends.[21] Their New Age Ethnos has an eschatology that is Dominionist – they are seeking to build their own utopic kingdom on earth. They even teach about a “Maitreya” Christ figure who they claim will make an appearance, and who will conduct a “selection process” – an ethnos-style “cleansing” of those on the planet who won’t evolve.[22] There is no place for Jews or Israel in their worldview.[23]

Dominionism can seem ostensibly secular, yet still seek to impose its own worldview. This intends to establish its own civic religion with its own doctrines and laws. Dr. Dennis Cuddy, in his landmark book Now is the Dawning of the New Age New World Order, observed the Dominionist internationalists’ goal is not benign – the globalists intend to change people’s actual culture and values in order to enforce their own Big Global State – i.e., their basileia, their kingdom:

The primary goal of today’s world planners is power and control, and they really have no exclusively liberal or conservative ideology.[24]

Not only was the goal to change the Constitution and have a world government, but to change culture as well, using environmental issues as a primary vehicle. In October 1987, the World Commission on Environment and Development… presented its report “Our Common Future,” to the U.N…. The report is actually a map or program for the world’s future covering nearly all areas of life, and calling for “new norms of behavior at all levels… changes in attitudes, in social values” and population control.[25]

This Big State global “religion” is not only intolerant of Christians, but also Jews. In fact, there is a drastic rise in anti-Semitism that accompanies this so-called secular ideology. The fact is that many Jewish people have embraced just this sort of thinking, seemingly unaware that it could ultimately lead to their own cultural, religious, political and ethnic destruction.[26]

Big Corporate Ethnos Dominionism
In the current climate of polarizing political divides it becomes evident that the ethnos of Big Media and Big Tech, including Social Media, are now exhibiting a form of imperialism over culture. This is infringing on religious freedoms. These Big Entities are exercising their Dominionism by flexing their corporate muscles to promote a particular political slant. But, worse, they are attempting to exert control by limiting access, censoring, suppressing, blocking, erasing, and in other ways encroaching upon the freedoms of both speech and religion of people they disagree with. This activity represents an ominous new form of corporate power exercised over the populace, especially over those who are deemed politically and spiritually incorrect. It is encroaching upon religious expression, political beliefs, academic freedom and independent thought.

The political wars are already raging. The extent to which the overarching Big Corporate Ethnos will eventually merge with Big State may indicate how close we are to having Big Brother. Examples of this sort of Big Corporate Ethnos Dominionism have poured forth in the past few weeks since this article series began. Just a smattering of articles includes:

• “Vaccine Battle Bedevils Facebook”[36]
• “In New Bill, Sen. Josh Hawley Warns Big Tech: Stop Political Censorship Or Lose Your Precious Legal Immunity”[37]
• “Google Foes Plan for Federal Probe”[38]
• “UPDATE: YouTube DELETES Video Exposing Google Plan to Interfere in 2020 Election”[39]

More will be written on this topic in future segments of this series, but for now suffice it to say that this emerging Big Corporate Dominionism has a prior history of enabling and assisting anti-Semitism:

Silencing Opposition 
The extent to which Big Media, Big Tech, Big State seek to exercise dominion over ordinary people practicing their simple faith is of concern. In America this is a freedom protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, but the freedom of speech and religion are two rights specifically under assault. They go together. The freedom to speak about one’s religious and/or political beliefs is the crux of the issue. The Big Ethnos Entities seem to have a sinister zeal to conquer certain worldviews, particularly those of religious Jews and conservative Christians, i.e., Judeo-Christian.[41] Some other religious groups that are conservative in manner, dress and lifestyle might say they are also feeling the brunt of this infringement of their freedom. This isn’t supposed to happen in America. But it is already happening across the world.

Those of a Judeo-Christian heritage today are being challenged in new ways that are historically unprecedented. We are under a barrage by Big Media, Social Media, political groups and Big Tech companies –which openly view us as a threatening ethnos to be subjugated. This is because our beliefs run counter to their postmodern and progressive cultural ethnos. The historian David Horowitz, in his recent book Dark Agenda: The War to Destroy Christian America, explains the counter worldview. He claims that many political progressives are utopian “atheists” who are totalitarian in their implementation. He says, they

have a faith of their own. They see themselves as liberators—pioneers of a new millennium for the human race. They envision a future in which religion has been vanquished and rationality prevails. They want a world in which humanity is finally free from myths and superstitions. They believe in a vision of a world of “new men and women,” liberated from the chains of the past. Science will usher in a utopian age of reason, enlightenment, and social justice. 

This is the vision of an earthly redemption. It’s a fantasy in which human beings aspire to act as gods and create new worlds—and it is nothing new. It is the faith of Marxists and Communists who set out to transform the world from the one we know into the one that is entirely different—liberated. It is the essence of the original sin recorded in Genesis, when Satan tempted the first man and woman, saying, “Then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods.” And it is the source of the monstrous catastrophes of the twentieth century, which were engineered by socialists in Germany and the Communist bloc….[42]

Through the progressive lens, individuals and their choices disappear. That is why progressives do not hesitate to impose their solutions on others by force, including the people they propose to save.[43]

Horowitz also explains how political Leftists, of which he once was, manipulate Big Media platforms to paint people holding traditional conservative beliefs as extremists:

Stigmatizing one’s opponent is a classic radical tactic. It is the thirteenth rule of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Attack your opponents personally and cut them off from any possibility of sympathy. This is why radicals paint their political opponents as homophobes, xenophobes, and Islamophobes.[44]

Once again it is apparent that the ethnos divides are being intentionally exaggerated, and any differences attacked. This is unfortunate because in a civil society we should have the freedom, even the privilege, to debate one another with respect. Debates are for the purpose of each side explaining to the other side one’s defensible position, with the potential to find an area of consensus or agreement. Scholars have structured processes in which to publish their research, especially where there is disagreement with one another’s findings. Politicians have established rules for legislating laws, based on representing the people who elected them.

But the normal boundaries of society that guide how these differences are hammered out are breaking down. Ordinary civility is difficult when we are who hold to faith are being caricatured, mocked, ridiculed, jeered at,[45] portrayed falsely, mischaracterized, stifled and censored. But this is just name calling and labels, shutting out and censoring – not violence. Not yet. But the threat is looming.

The Christian Ethnos 
True Christians are not exempt from the very same persecution that attacks Jews. This is because we, like Jewish people, are also an ethnos – a “chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation [Greek: ethnos], a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9). Jesus warned his followers, “If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you” (John 15:20).

In fact, it is the Word, speaking the truth, the very act of sharing the Gospel of salvation with others that makes Christians vulnerable to persecution. The cross of Christ is an “offence” (Galatians 5:11) and Jesus Christ is a “rock of offence” (1Peter 2:8). Speaking Gospel Truth might result in people actually repenting and genuinely getting saved. This the chief reason why freedom of speech and religion is under attack by Big State, Big Tech and Big Media – for the purpose of suppression of the truth: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

Our response as Christians is not to retaliate. We are to be remarkably different: we are to “Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.” (Romans 12:14) and turn the other cheek (Matthew 5:39; Luke 6:29). We have a unique perspective about this life and the next: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

In the New Testament it is clearly stated that normal societal divisions no longer apply. The Gospel truth is must be open to all regardless of race, ethnicity, country of origin, status or gender: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28, also see Col. 3:11). There should be no ethnos vs. ethnos; rather this verse represents true pluralism. The church is a “composite of widely diverse and divergent elements,”[47] yet as a body united in Christ. Christians preach the Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ to all tribes, all nations, all religions and all races without regard to their ethnos: “Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight.”[48] This is the basis for biblical evangelism. In fact, Christianity is so radical that it teaches that even a witch, a politician, a drunkard, a LGBTQ, an abortionist, a Muslim, a Hindu, a slave owner or a prostitute can be born again.

Christians are to be noticeably different, separate and distinct from the culture that surrounds us. Equipped with the Gospel of salvation, Jesus sends us “forth as sheep in the midst of wolves” – i.e., at the risk of losing our very lives. Jesus warned that preaching the Gospel of salvation will be divisive in itself, but we aren’t to exacerbate the divisions. The Gospel message itself is the “sword,” we do not wield a literal sword. (See Matthew 10; see James 4.). As Matthew Henry wrote centuries ago, our battle is spiritual:

Christ never intended that His Gospel should be propagated by fire and sword or His righteousness wrought by the wrath of man. When the high praises of God are in our mouth with them we should have an olive-branch of peace in our hands. Christ’s victories are by the power of His Gospel and grace over spiritual enemies, in which all believers are more than conquerors. The Word of God is the two-edged sword (Heb. 4:12), the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17).[49]

Thus our stance as Christians is to eschew any us vs. them and instead believe with hope that even the worst sinner can be saved (1 Timothy 1:15). If you wish to test yourself on this consider when it was that you last prayed for or witnessed to a witch, a politician, a drunkard, a LGBTQ, an abortionist, a Muslim, a Hindu, a slave owner or a prostitute.[50] (See Ephesians 6:12.) Sharing the Gospel is not supposed to be done with an us vs. them mindset, nor are Christians to consider themselves superior. Nor is it to be done with manipulative marketing techniques, heavy-handedness, or brow-beating, but sincerely speaking Gospel Truth out of love and compassion for the state of others’ eternal souls.

We should all recognize in ourselves what the Apostle Paul stated of himself: “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief” (1Timothy 1:15). Because of this we shouldn’t even set up an us vs. them between saints and sinners; the only tangible difference in this world between us and them is repentance and the cross. Repentance is the crux of the matter, “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation” (2Corinthians 7:10a).
